A new high-speed rail line in East China intersects with an existing high-speed rail line, with more line branches, longer contact lines, and complex line structure, which leads to the failure of ranging in the existing institute and fails to guide the disposition of line fault tripping. Railroad overhead contact line fault monitoring device was installed on this line to solve the fault ranging problem under this structure.
In June 2021, a metallic trip fault was detected on the transmission line, and the system quickly provided a positioning result and located the fault discharge point. The cause was a wind deviation discharge trip caused by strong convective weather. Practical case verifies that the system has the ability to localize the fault point and identifies the fault causes under complex line structures.
The large railway bridges and tunnels, as well as the complex power line environment, pose significant challenges to the emergency response of a railway line fault. Each time a fault trips, the fault search takes a long time, and the efficiency is low, seriously restricting the safety and reliability of power supply. To improve the efficiency of fault diagnosis, a automatic blocking and continuous railway fault monitoring device has been installed on the line. Since the application, multiple tripping faults have been detected, and several insulator degradation faults have been successfully warned. The system responds quickly, with a 100% startup rate and significant positioning performance, significantly reducing troubleshooting time and receiving high praise from customers.
